Climbing Wall Project at backyard with 3d pdf
Report this Post
i used to climb when i was at college but beacuse of now living in sarasota,Florida we dont have any rocks around here and closest gym is 1.5 hours away :(
I want to build a climbing wall at my backyard. Because of the florida houses, I cant use them as basement of the structure they are extremely weak and im a tenant :) So i've found some ideas on the internet and i've designed this project as you see on the photos.
The sides are going to be vertical, rear panel is 35 degrees and there is a small roof. ... The main 4 pole is going to be 4x4x12.
The 2 of them on the sides of the rear panel is 2x4x12.
And the rest of them is 1x4x12 and 1x4x8
You will want all of the support framing to be a minimum of 2x4.
You will also want a vertical framework to the 35* wall at least every 24". Also, it may be even more secure if you were able to do 2 other aspects. (1) Splay out the side walls slightly. This would make a trapezoid for a roof. (2) Dig in the 2 main side supports of the 35* wall similar to the 4x4's.
I guess the only other thing I can think of is to make sure to make plans to keep it dry.
Good idea though, I think it will be awesome when you finish it. Would love to see progress photos.
