Climbing over water...

Okay, so I've seen videos of people doing these deep water solos and toting chalk bags up with them.. how bad does is goof up your chalk to drop into water?

There are a couple of great hiking trails on creeks around here with some waterfalls we jump off fairly regularly... there are some spots that would make for some fun climbing, but I didn't know if I would be throwing away a bag of chalk if I made a big splash with it hooked to my belt!

Thanks for the tips!

Joe

It will get wet. One trick is to rub extra chalk on your forearms to chalk up mid route so you can leave the bag behind.

Tip 2: chalk dries (block less messy than powder)
Tip 3: little bit in plastic baggie ( usual contents in rugged waterproof container)

Someone actually makes a DWS chalk bag made out of vinyl-like material with no fuzzy liner...

Unfortunately I can't remember who makes it. If I can find it I'll post it here.

Edit to add: Found it... Asana used to make a DWS chalk bag but not any more:
