On March 2, 2013 Western Carolina University will be holding its annual Rock & Rumble bouldering competition. The event is sponsored by the Collegiate Climbing Series and is open to any current college student. The cost is $25 in advance, $35 day of. For details, call the Base Camp Cullowhee outdoor program office at 828-227-3633. There will be more info on sponsors, rules, and prizes to come, but La Sportiva has already donated 2 new pairs of shoes!

One more bump for the climbing comp! Day-of registration starts at 9:00am. Competitors need to arrive by 10:00am for rules and announcements. The first heat runs from 10:00am-1:30pm; the second heat and another reading of the rules runs from 1:30-5:00pm. You can find more info at http://www.wcu.edu/28317.asp.
