I want nothing to do with that party. I'm so glad that Curitiba is dead quite over Carnival. I'd go to Rio with folks if I were single, but I'd see it as a one-time thing. This kind of big party isn't for me.
That and the samba parades are a lot more boring than they look in those quick blips on TV. And I hate crowds.
Maybe I'd go to the beach some day, but since the lady is in spain still, I'd rather just be productive. Even then, I'd rather hang out with her here when it's quiet than at the beach with a gazillion drunks on the road. I'd rather go to the beach when there's no one there. Kinda like hitting the 'Gunks on a wed in sept.

Great minds think alike. I was thinking the exact same thing when I protected it. But then again, I just don't trust the gerks. Everyone knows they lurk and / or send a spy in to post for a few months before leaving again. It's not like it's covert or anything.

Probably yes, but I wouldn't be involved with anything like that. I don't know what the drug market is like in the US (i.e. - I've never bought and I've never been involved in any kind of transaction or in proximity to one that I knew of), but I imagine that it's not that violent. You just don't want to get involved with the folks here.

so we were asked in class one day what we'd do if we found a bag of money on the street. We were asked what we'd do in our own country and what we'd do in Brasil.
Almost everyone said that they'd return it in their own country (via the police). almost everyone also said that they wouldn't here, because the police would probably just take it for themselves.
The best point, though, that everyone agreed with was that in all likelihood no one would even know the money was in the bag, because no one would dare to look out of the fear of not knowing who was watching, and not knowing when that purpose would sneak up on you and shoot you in the head to get the bag back.

Yeah, thanks. There are good days and bad days for sure, but every morning I wake up knowing that I'm in a good place. That wasn't the case a few years ago. Even as the bad days can be really depressing (not about life, but the quality of work), I still feel that it's the right direction. It's really been an amazing transition for me. Who knew?
