I was brought up in the climbing world understanding that under the nonchalant, relaxed coating of Chris Sharma lay the world's greatest climber. And now my dreams are shattered a bit, but it's awesome to see some competition at the top of the world. I saw it on thegalavant, but evidently there is a whole reel rock tour movie documenting this climb... that's awesome!

I think Ondra has been recognised as having eclipsed Sharma as the world's top climber for a while now.

Now, how long he'll hold the top spot... there's some kids coming up that are really good. (Such as Ashima Shiraishi who is sending 5.14c at 11 years old.)

I hero worship.

He deserves it.

I preserve it!

Sharma is still the greatest. I had the pleasure of meeting him last weekend. He signed autographs for hours on end and never stopped smiling. In fact he kept the autograph session going longer than planned so anyone who wanted one, got one. He then flashed a 5.14 and later obliged the crowd's request to boulder sans shirt.

That's really great to hear. I have seen Sharma in many movies and he always has a really calm, awesome personality... but to hear that he's so altruistic and awesome still is fantastic.
