Some shoes stretch hugely, some almost not at all. Your first pair should be comfortable rather than excessively small. Your technique will be too poor to notice the effect of tight shoes.

Try wearing them for another day or so. They may stretch as suggested above.

IMO, the title of the post, while a bit clever, could give some the impression that Mad Rock shoes cause pain.
The reality is that ANY brand of new climbing shoes that are purchased on the small side will likely cause some pain (at least initially).
This really has nothing to do with Mad Rock.
