So, Lena is still hamming it up at the RRGRA, and I'll let her tell the whole story, but I've got to just do a bit of the sekrit radness and show you guys what the fuck happened: You'll have to wait for the full story from her, but it is way more than a botched avocado slicing incident.

Did mine last weekend, always a relief to be done. Pretty interesting about lena cracking that biner. Light climber with 60 feet of rope means low ff. but, weird stuff happens. I kicked a quick off a bolt 5 years ago. Just heard a clink, looked down and saw it on the rope on the next draw down. Were her gates opposite or same side?

good lord, this place is dead. It will probably pick up as soon as Lena has caught up from her SE vacay and dropped in to tel us details of her epic. For now, though, some climber gossip that I've gleaned from my facespace stalkerfeed: 1. It looks like Katie Brown has reproduced a spawnling. Not sure if this was a result of her Christian upbringing and abstinence-only ed. Probably not. 2. See grupe.

weke end report: knee is improving. rode about 25 miles on saturday, felt pretty gud. sunday, decided to get back into it by climbing at teh hole. busy day down there -- jak, c-ya, mangler, nate, terri, myself, teh oracle, plus a separate crew that climbed teh warmup a few times and TRd teh bak wall rowt. inward twisting still makes the knee sore, but I can high step on it and stand up without a problem. teh hangboreding seemed to at least keep me in shape, since I got up all teh warmups without difficulty (but didn't try any of the harder stuff).

Not sure if this was a result of her Christian upbringing and abstinence-only ed. Probably not. 2. See grupe. Heh! I posted a full incident analysis if anybody cares to read. The trip was good overall, despite the weather and the epic biner fail. I was planning on Obed for 3 days, then Red for the rest of the week, but we ended up doing Red for 2 days, then Obed for 4, then back to the Red. More driving than I would have liked. We stayed at the hostel. I liked it, but I have a mixed feeling about it as the next thanksgiving meet-up place. Could work, but the stove is only a 3-burner, and the oven is really small. Obed is cool, but I didn't train for it the right way. It would take some getting used to climbing there, but I would def go back someday. I was a bit disappointed with the 5-star must-do routes there (except Pet Cematery, that one was cool), but my absolute most favorite was the 5.10c start to the 5.13 at Tieranny-- called Huecool Jr. (as opposed to full-length Sr.) Way-way-way better than Spawn. I was just drooling and salivating and wondering how amazing it was, all the way up. Oh, and the other favorite route of the trip was "The lifestyles of the Ripped and Heinous", an 11b to the right of the main Tieranny wall. Starts with a cool roof that is way easier than it looks, and then goes into a face climbing like Barfing Butterflies at the New. Hanging my own draws the entire time did get a bit old though... RRG-- first day we went to the Bear's Den. I flashed two "5.12a's", which would be really cool, except they weren't really 5.12s more like 11b and 11d, currently improperly graded in the online guide. Mercy was way more "exciting" than I bargained for, but I am glad i sent it. Overall feeling strong, but didn't get on nearly as many climbs as I had hoped for. Ed is progressing nicely, he almost sent the 11a at the Bronaugh wall on the second go, and he did a bunch of mid-10s first go at the Obed and the Red. I think he'll get to 11b this season. the end.
