Equinox comes in a 9.9 and a 10.2. Both of which are super cheap and good ropes. For a starter, I'd say grab the 10.2mm.

You should join the USNavy though, so you can make tons of money and only work 6 months of the year.

Beginner?

10-10.5mm x 60-70 m. Doesn't have to be "dry". Whatever is on sale.

I like Sterling, Mammut, Bluewater, New England
Not a fan of Petzl, Beal

Here, you asked about this one

Sierra trading post has a great deal on Edelrid ropes atm. I bought a 50m for the gym, but here's the link to the 60m - $108 once you add it to the cart.

Edit:Forgot to mention this, but I agree with the others. Cheap 60m around the 10mm range is the best bet for a beginner rope. That'll work well as an all rounder and will be pretty durable.

I'm not sure I would trust someone with such atrocious spelling to use an ATC, or worse, a grigri.

Buy whatever is cheapest and 60m.

Make sure it is a Dynamic rope for climbing.
Any rope rated for climbing will be fine, there is a standard test that each climb rated rope must pass.
Look at spadout.com and justropes.com for cheap rope options as well; there are a lot of possibilites out there.
I hope that you are getting a cheap rope because you are saving up for furthering your education.

There is a guy on ebay selling short ropes, like from the end of the spool. New England brand and really good pricing. The one I got is an 11mm 145'. Try searching "climbing rope".

Thanks everyone for putting your input in. I apologize for my lack of proper grammar but thats what happens when you've been awake for 36 hours.

Here's a nice little resource. I've set it to search for single, 10.0-10.3mm x 60m. But, there are lots of search filters that you can change:
