It does get crowded, but it all works out. People are there to climb, and with no lazy top-rope hangdoggers you can easily jump in on any wall. Last I checked, yes you needed to show proof of insurance - something about them getting sued after a climber broke a leg. Why didn't you actually go downstairs when you were in the building? Also, its just $10, so I would say just give it a try.

No no no, i did go down the stairs to the counter where the dude was to ask him how much it was per month, but they were closed so i didn't get to go to see the entire bouldering area. I just saw the slab wall and the immediate bouldering wall at first glance. Damn that sucks because i have no insurance at all....

I haven't gone since the ownership change - still climbing at Hidden Peak. May check out OBRC again though, since my yearly membership at the Peak expired - need to make sure all those T-nuts I put in are still there

In reply to: Currently Chicago-area climbers have very limited options for indoor climbing. Hidden Peaks, which is located inside Lakeshore Academy, a recreational gymnastic facility, is the only climbing wall open to the public. Um. What? Anyway, hadn't heard of the Brooklyn Boulders thing until now. Wonder if they'd consider changing the name though?
