Crack lover, yore gym has stiff grades and the water tastes bad. That is awl.

Ya, you must've been to the north gym. There's something seriously wrong with their water. I rarely go there (nothing to do with the water, it's just further than the south R&J).

Anyway, glad to hear you got out.

Oh, for some reason I thought Thornton was your gym. It is way closer to my house than BRC, but BRC is soooo much better.

I wasn't really climbing this weekend it was a VA outing. Lots if awesome gimps from 'Nam, I loved it.

No, I just offered to meet you there because it's way closer to you, and it's not much further for me. I typically go to the south R&J. Is that the event where you learned of Sonnie Trotter's lurve for you, or did I miss some GU somewhere along the way?

Waves Hi!

Hi! Just a quick weekend fly-by. Dunno if I'll even get into town after shopping and before flying back to Denver.

Not to sympathize with the flies, but I think we all know what would happen if a history grad student was stuck into an engineering grad course.

Talked with my friend about maybe going to the Gunks this weekend. It''s all cool, but she was talking about leaving on Monday at 4pm to get back home. She figured she'd get home at midnight. I'm thinking, fuck I'll have to get up at 4:30am, do a three hour drive and then organize a project at work?

They're all grad students, The oldest being 25? Anyway, I saw what Paul posted on facespace about your late 20s vs early 20s and if I go with them I'm totally this guy:

Soo, a while back my pc+++ on mountainreject got to 1,000. I figured that, since this is a gneiss round number, I would leave it at that for a while. Just logged on today, and found that my PC has dropped to 997! I have no idea what posts they deletezed, though. Fucking fascists.

Wasn't there another meatdecking that featured a GoPro and a survival bracelet? I think I have to add survival bracelets to my noob indicator list.

given the number of meatdeckings featuring GoPros, I'm not sure two survival bracelets is anything more than a statistical anomaly.

I see it as a larger part of the noob culture. If one thinks they may need 60 feet of noob cordage in an emergency, that points to general gumbitude...

Good weekend at the Red. We got amazingly lucky with the weather-- the forecast was for 60% chance of rain on both days, but looking at weathersparks (the geeky graphs for anything weather-related you could possibly want), I determined that the dew point was supposed to be well below the projected temps, and the rain was supposed to mostly happen at night.

Lo and behold, the forecast was correct! Good temps, good friction, and NO CROWDS WHATSOEVER!!!!

Went to the Lode with Shaun on Saturday, while Ed went elsewhere with someone else. (Drivel, you know her, and OMG, she is a scatter-brained clusterfuck! Only fake blonde, but OMG, every single blonde joke DOES apply... but, mid-20s+blonde+boobs = guys can be AMAZINGLY tolerant of any clusterfuckedness)

Anyway, I digress.

Warmed up on one of the new routes (Laura, which Shaun refused to do, with good reasons!), then Shaun sent Skinboat 1st go, I sent Ale8 first go, then we got ourselves trashed trying our respective new projects. 8Ball is apparently a harder 12d than the 13s, bc Shaun gave it 4 goes, and didn't send. I tried Resurrection (balls hard!) and Stain (hard but doable). Finished the day with pork tenderloin in cherry barbeque sauce (cooked by Ed), really good salad, if I have to say so myself, chips, salsa and lots of beer.

Ed sent two of his 11a projects, so it was a great day all in all.

Sunday went to Muir Valley. Amazingly Solarium was bone-dry, even though it rained hard all night, and usually the top of the Solarium gets wet. Warmed up there, then left Ed and L. and went to Midnight Surf. I tried Crucible, which is reachy and very much Obed-like, but might, conceivably, go at some point in the future. Shaun fell off the last move on Vortex on the onsight attempts, and got slightly pissed. Then we went back to Solarium, and I got owned on Galunlati (still can't do the crimp crux at the bottom), while Shaun flashed it. Ed sent Air-ride equipped, so he is now three .11a's for the weekend. Finished on Banshee, now Ed's new project.

In all weekend, we saw 8 other people at the Lode, total (Paul's favorite PT guy with a partner from Columbus, and a Cincinnati crew that Shaun knew). And then saw 2 other people in Muir Valley, the ENTIRE DAY! That's all.

went to the hole on saturday; fired the Crack Whore -- not a new route, but I hadn't gotten around to doing it before ... it's not steep enough to really count as one of the rowts. now it's back to the drive-by for the summer.

did get a couple swimming/tanning naked about 100 ft. downstream. that qualified as the excitement for the day.

my rack is out at teh creke with the double asiant, which means I'm definitely sports climbing next weke end.
