Are you still looking for gear?

What specifically would help you the most?

Thanks to all the wonderful people who have so kindly helped us - we are pretty good now on shoes except for the smaller kids sizes but if you are going to throw them away - we will gladly take them still. We have enough one size fits all harnesses but your outgrown or when you update harnesses and your old one is still good enough for gym use - those would be nicer than what we have. Chalk bags would help keep down the mess - we now use one bouldering bucket for all 18 roped walls - which gets kicked around a lot (I'm the floor sweeper :)). A few belay plates and locking biners would allow the older kids to learn how to belay properly without a Gri Gri and help prepare them for outdoor climbing. Books or DVDs etc on climbing would be nice - lots of people are now expressing an interest in going outside to either top rope or actually learn to climb outside the gym. The donated shoes are what made the difference - it was pretty hard to get excited while trying to learn in your running shoes - now people are seeing the real fun that can be had. So all those things would be nice (but not necessary of course). If you think about what someone in the very beginning stages might be able to use or benefit from - these kids could. Of course some of these people can afford their own stuff but many cannot. Thank you again and again!

Can do. Right now I'm in the process of washing all the ropes (a few at a time) and talking down the holds, running them through our dish washer and then will be putting them back up (differently of course). I'll be painting walls and generally sprucing things up and doing maintenance on everything. I also need to build a big something or another to hold all those shoes we now have and keep them organized.
