Petzl Belay Loop Strength?

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. I am looking at Petzl's new red Sama harness. Does anyone here know the breaking strength of this harnesses' belay loop? It isn't published anywhere and I can't call them now because it's the weekend.

I think it's kind of lame that Petzl doesn't document the strength ratings of their harnesses. Unsure

Thanks in advance.

It doesn't matter. Really. The breaking strength of the belay loop is irrelevant.

The belay loop is stronger than any other part of the harness and stronger than much of the rest of the gear you're using. If the forces are such that the breaking strength of the belay loop is being approached, so much else has gone wrong that you're likely dead already and the belay loop is the least of your worries.

Also, Petzl does in fact document the strength ratings of their harness. On the Sama page on Petzl's site it states:
Certification(s): CE EN 12277 type C, UIAA

According to UIAA certifications the belay loop has to hold at least 15kN.

Your body would rip in two before your belay loop fails.

Thanks marc, that's what I was looking for. I just went back and checked the Sama's page and saw that it's UIAA-certified; that's what I needed to know.

I already knew how strong the belay loop is supposed to be and that if used correctly, it's impossible to reach that much force anyway. All the harnesses I've previously owned have had either the strength rating or that it had UIAA certifications, so I was a little surprised when I thought that Petzl had not provided information on that.

I'm working for Petzl and the requirement for the belayloop is 22kN. But in the tensile test mostly we are getting higher than the specifications.
