I need a dynamic rope I can use for toproping, and sport climbing. 60m or 70m. What thickness. Dry treated or not?(I plan to climb on a bridge pillar next to a creek). Please give me brand names. Thanks

Cool
I'd not recommend 11mm. Its a pain in the ass with most modern belay devices. 10.5mm is maximum.

Dry treating: Doesnt hurt, but unless you are doing ice or alpine, its not really necessary.

Yes, an 11 mm rope is a pain in the ass with belay devices like an ATC.

Not sur about brand names. I get a pro deal with sterling but I really like them besides getting a good price.

Here is some info on ropes that may help if your just starting out.

Forget the 70 meter. Forget the 11mm. Get a good entry level rope. Mamut, Sterling, Bluewater etc are all good brands. Forget dry treated, they are super slick when new and new climbers have lost control of belays because of it.

Just get a basic rope.
