Is bouldering allowed again? It looks like they list bouldering as an activity on the somerset parks website:

You will get a better chance of a reply if your subject said something like "Sourland Mtn, NJ - Access" instead of just "access"....

Bouldering is listed as an activity and there was a competition in late April 2013. I currently have an email query out to the organizer of said competition (who, as evidenced by his/her email, is a Somerset County Parks employee) regarding the official policy of bouldering in the park.

Stay tuned (both of you)Tongue.

Per my phone call with David Dendler, Somerset County Parks Ranger Manager, the SOMERSET side of Sourland Mountain Preserve is open to bouldering. The competition was meant to promote the sport in the park and Dave is actually working with others to develop and label new problems.

He made it a point to inform me that the HUNTERDON county side of the mountain DOES NOT allow bouldering. So please respect that.
