I need senior pictures for the school yearbook. I want to have some climbing pictures to choose from for the yearbook. What kinds of things should I suggest to the photographer for my pictures?

Can it be done with you on real rock or at the gym, or is this one of those posed pics of you holding a coil of rope, leaning on a stool, in front of a laser backdrop in some storefront studio?

It can be done on rock or in the gym. I want at least one in the studio but I can go somewhere as part of the session

Remember that the choices one makes for a high school yearbook may not seem so sound 3, 4, or 10 years from now.

I plan on still climbing in 10 years and senior pictures are supposed to reflect your high school life. Mine mostly revolved around climbing

Agree...even if you don't climb in 10 years, how is it a bad thing to have a reminder of what you were like in HS? Just let it be a reflection of the now, not a projection of a prediction of what your future self would like to have seen upon reflection. Also, all senior pics end up looking silly in the future, so just go with it.

My comment was specifically referring to:
"What kinds of things should I suggest to the photographer for my pictures?"

You're from Pennsylvania. Posing as a rock climber should come naturally.

I don't know, Jay, I could make an argument for the movie that inspired my son to do this pose as he accepted his diploma from UMass:

One of my proudest moments seeing him on the big screen.

Get ahold of pics you like and share them with the photographer. Point out what you like about them. Climbing photos are as much about the scenery as they are the climber. Make sure the shots have your whole body in them and look for locations beforehand where the photographer can safely shoot from since they most likely don't want to rope up!
