I'll be visiting the girlfriend's family over July 4th weekend in San Antonio. We'd like to get out for a day or two of climbing, heat/weather-permitting. Sport or trad (Enchanted Rock looks like a blast). Ideally a mix of moderates up to 10+.

I know TX is hot, so I'm curious what locations / specific cliffs are best to visit to avoid the sun, and if it's just going to be too hot to get out at all.

Thanks in advance!

Reimers Ranch is good limestone sport just west of Austin. A lot of the base of the walls are in the shade a good part of the day so it's manageable.

E-rock's backside is in full sun almost all day but you could get a few early morning runs before it gets too ugly. Triple Cracks would be good because the base is in the shade and you've got 3 moderates in a row.

You might ask over on the "ERockOnline.com" forum for other recommendations.
