Do anybody knows if climbers have access to Tahquitz right now? I just had to cancel a trip to the Palisades and want to see if at least I can do Tahquitz.

sorry can't answer your question, but I was surprised you had to cancel your palisades trip. Was it just because there's no office open to give you a multi day permit?

Can't find anything really on the inyo site, are all the portals to the sierras being closed however i.e. whitney, big pine, etc ? Mad

I was thinking of heading up to lone pine peak area myself

I think they have all entrances barricade and in any case I didn't want to take the chance. It is a 5 hrs. trip for me to get there.

All units of the National Park Service are closed, meaning no entry. This means all national parks, national monuments, national reserves, etc.

National Forest Service lands and BLM lands are all open, but any developed areas within those lands are closed - camp grounds, backcountry offices, picnic areas, rest rooms, etc.

So theoretically Tahquitz and the Pallisades are open, but with no services. Where things get sticky is that some improved access roads *may* be locked and gated.

A great example of all this is Red Rocks in NV - the scenic loop road and everything accessed off of it is closed, but Black Velvet Canyon, which is on BLM land outside of RRNCA, is open and accessible. So you could do Epinephrine but not Crimson Chrysalis for example.

Interesting, so I maybe had been able to make it to the Palisades but not sure if I could make it to Tahquitz. Fuck!
