Hi everyone.

I'm an avid rock-climber and also a diver.

Looking for a good place to spend about 2 months next year where I can rock-climb and dive at the same time.

Have been to Krabi and it's got excellent climbing but diving's only so-so.

Been to Koh Tao as well.

Any suggestions?
-So far I've come across Kalymnos, Malta and Dahab but it seems you either get good climbing or good diving.

I know you can't have your cake and eat it too but just asking around if anyone has some suggestions or hidden gems.

Thanks!

Mexico.

Spend a week or two climbing the long bolted routes in the Potrero Chico then catch a cheap flight to Cozumel for excellent diving.

Definitely Malta and Gozo. UK divers voted Malta as the 3rd best place in the world to go diving. I'm a diver and climber myself so i can definitely confirm the excellence of the diving here. With regard to climbing we've just launched a new sport climbing guidebook which features more than 500 routes, many world class, and about 120 of which have been developed in the past couple of years by "legend" Stevie Haston who has an apartment on Gozo. His route King of Kings F8b is the longest roof climb in the world at 55m. There's plenty to go at at all grades of difficulty :)

What time of year? If you're looking to go in the summer consider Canada.

In Ontario you can climb the northern end of the Niagara Escarpment (search "Lions Head", it's unreal climbing on limestone) and dive in Tobermory which is an underwater national park and often called the "fresh water diving capital of the world". Amazing visibility and hundreds of shipwrecks!

Out west you could base in the Vancouver/Squamish area. Climbing in Squamish needs no introduction and the diving on the coast is pretty amazing as well.

But if you're thinking winter, disregard everything I just said.....

Caribbean would be an easy trip. Cayman brac has both at amazing quality. The climbing is best in the mid 11s. There's wrecks and pristine reefs around the brac and grand cayman has amazing wall diving.

There are flights from grand cayman to Havana, Cuba. I can't speak for the diving, but the climbing and culture are simply awesome. Diving is popular there.
