Hi, I'm heading off to SEA for four months starting this January 15 in Singapore. I'm bringing my whole sport climbing gear and I'd like to find a partner to climb on lead in Malaysia during the January 20-30. My itinerary is pretty flexible and I intend to stay in Krabi, Thailand for the month of February.

Any tips, tricks, partners, anecdotes would be appreciated!!

Good choice! Malaysia has some neat climbing. I've dropped you a PM. Here is my thinking on the climbing:

Kuching - awesome, worth a visit. Link up with the local on the weekend for a belay.
Tioman - out of season.
Gua Kelam - some neat routes, seldom travelled - you'll need a partner
Bukit Keteri - getting overgrown. Not sure it's worth the visit
Batu Caves - accessible climbing near the city. Damai can get flooded with newbies, but has nice upper pitches. Nyamuk remains cool, but difficult to locate. Nanyang is OK.
Bukit Takun - loads of awesome new routes documented at Climb Malaysia. Difficult to get cabs when leaving the crag.
