Hello,
I'm thinking about buying a pair of belay glasses to take a break in my neck. I noticed that there are some brands with different price available such as Belay Specs, CU, Belaggles, Belayshades etc. Then I found a little known brand called Y&Y belay glasses in Los Angeles. Their quality seems to be decent and they are on promotion right now. Anyone heard of it before?

I love my belaggles. They are great. It takes a few days to get used to them, but, they are awesome. It really saves my neck.

I have not heard of Y&Y, but I do have CU (love them), and I have also used Belaggles and Belay Specs.

There are some differences in terms of whether you like to have the extra plastic blocking your view around the prisms, or not, but you are probably o.k. with any brand that's out there.

I do prefer CUs because there is no plastic blocking the view, if i want to see my climber without the prisms, I don't need to remove the glasses. But it is not worth paying extra for that (my glasses were a gift)

My "C U Belay Glasses" (google that to purchase) have helped my neck alot. It helps but you still look up when climbing and often when spectating. I've got to where I can enjoy spectating with the glasses on usually, or lie down to look up.

Field of vision below climber is small; you have to remember if they climb over a bulge or something that calls for soft belay. When lowering you have to remember not crashing them under roofs. If rock falls at you, I think your reaction won't be as sharp.

I have the belay specs and they wok nicely. A slight magnification in the prism actually makes things easier to see. However, I find that I forget to use them. I see more and more people using some kind of them in the gym. Be careful not to look into the sun with them on.

Concerning the price , I bought Y&Y and used them for several weeks. I have to say they are awesome, at first I have not expected a lot about them and just thought all the belay glasses do the same thing, but what's the surprise? Y&Y belay glasses' prisms! They can zoom a little so that I can see my partner clearer and my sight is wider.

Really worth a try
