Would love some honest feedback of this edit I put together out at Stoney Point. Filmed in a short session to show a couple classics out there.

What I saw looked good, except that it kept pausing and jumping. I tried to start it over with more cache, but it didn't help, and got annoying. Wish I could watch more; been to CA once on business and spent half my downtime there.

Thats very odd, I actually exported this video at 720p to keep the size smaller but the quality still good. I know my work computer drags with vimeo though.

Were pretty spoiled in California within an hour drive you can get to SToney, Tramway or Joshua tree or just trek out to Bishop.

I guess thats why I thought it would be cool to start a mini video series spotlighting all our favorite climbing areas so people who want to go climb there for a first time get an idea of what to expect. Theres too many climbers doing the gym only thing now haha, hoping to inspire people back outdoors.

Cool video.

I enjoyed the last half more than the first since there was more climbing. On the other hand it's good to show some atmosphere too. I also enjoyed the fact that you showed problems of different difficulties.

Keep em coming!

Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it, I did one in Joshua Tree that had way too much B roll looking back on it and was 8 mins long, but had more climbs. Working to find a balance.

Were hoping to keep the series going with Tramway, a Stoney Part 2, and a Pirates Cove 2 part edit. The plan is to show the V0 1 and 2s as much as 7-8s so that we can try to inspire the gym climbers to come take part in the real culture of climbing at any skill level and showcase what to expect when you go to some of these locations.

I got a better feed today. Nice film. As natrajk said, I like the mix of difficulties. Would have liked to see The Three Pigs, but maybe on episode 2.

I'll have to check Tramway and Joshua Tree next time I'm out there.

Great purpose. I am surprised at the number of people who have only climbed in gyms. It was so the reverse when I started, back in the stone ages (no pun intended).

Looking forward to more.

If you're interested here is the newest edit I put together for Tramway. A little longer than the last one at 6 mins, but covers 11 climbs

Tramway is a favorite haha. Hey well if you do venture out here let me know and we'll get a group and make a day of it.

What type of camera's were you using and how many do you have going at once? Good video, it was very enjoyable to watch. It is obvious that your outing was meant to capture video first and climb second. Keep them coming.

Thanks for the feedback.

That time I was using a Canon T2i, I used a 50mm 1.8 for a few close up shots, and a Rokinon fisheye for some of the shots on Kodas Corner. Now I use a Canon 7D, with the T2i on a tripod for 2nd angles to reduce repeat climbs

We actually went that day for Jake to work on Power Glide V6, I had recently injured my ankle so it seemed like a good day with overcast clouds to shoot some video.

We did another on Tramway if youre interested.
