One of my favorite, but little known climbing destinations. Routes up to 16 pitches long-all free. A longer hike than the Cirque of the Towers, but no crowds, and much longer routes. View of buttress on right side of Ambush Peak. There are 2 routes on the right side, both about 12 pitches long, 5.9+ and 5.10D. Photo taken on summit of Ambush Peak where many routes exist, up to 16 pitches-all free.

Yes, Wyoming. Leave from Big Sandy Opening, passing the Cirque of the Towers on right. It is a long one day hike into Ambush Peak.
