SkiDonalds

Glad you're doing better though. Any sign of normality in the future? A cane is better than crutches for sure. Are you relying on the cane for the actual stepping motion, or is it more for just support during walking?

STFUDonSKI?

uggg hope the PT is helping!

went out and did some trad multipitch climbing like a real live climber. It was 5.6 ... but hey at least I didn't cry and my hubs didn't cut my rope.

Yeah, kind of hoping he saw that for the joke it was.

which climb did you get on?

went out to lumpy ridge and jumped on a climb called batman and robin... while 5.6, most of the climb was actually more like 5.4-5.5. Pretty good quality though, and a nice way to ease into it.

Kor's Flake was my favorite out at Lumpy. Loved that route, though I didn't have to lead the runout 2nd pitch (or 3rd, can't remember which one is the chimney).

That one is definitely on my list, but I think I either need a rope gun, or need to wait until I'm a bit more confident before I try anything runout.

Trying to figure out what to do this weekend. The USA pro tour is in town, and I don't really want to get stuck in my house from road closures. Saturday looks nice, but Sunday might be a bit rainy according to the current weather report... hmmmmm
Anything more run out than aid bolts is not currently on my to do list.
Course I can't even walk, so nothing is really on my to do list.

You should get a pic of the kids belaying you up the stairs. The youngest sitting down with the belay device in hand and each kid behind the other after him holding on to the harness to keep them from flying up. That would be an awesome shot.
with girth hitch hand rail for pro...

Heh. Don't forget to add BFH if that works.

In other housing news here, the Lady and I have been living in separate apts since I moved here, even since we got married. I'm finally going to be in her apt starting in oct. I need to find studio space. Fingers are crossed some leads work out.

went on a run last night that turned out to be about 3 miles longer and slower than anticipated.

Ended with it getting dark and watching a small bear shimmy up a tree next to the trail Frown

no one was mauled, and we made it back even without headlamps...

then I stepped in dog Sh*t

I really should have gone climbing...

You should check out the new Civ games. It's quite incredible that they can keep making sequels and they actually get better instead of worse.

Ha! Yeah, I assume so too, but I guess we'll both find out soon enough.

I already have a couple of options for studio space. Neither are ideal, but it's a start. We haven't even tried to talk to the prime places yet, so fingers are crossed.

Apparently Civ V is pretty sweet, though the AI is apparently still not very good. Still, the strategies seem pretty cool.

I've not been out a ton, but recently hit Veedauwoo for a weekend and have been doing a bunch of hiking/exploring. I'll happily lead Kor's, or anything you want to get on.

Mostly been busy with work, about to start making a set of kitchen cabinets and doing the finish on a house. I'm taking a break from furniture for a bit once I deliver a coffee table I am finishing. That will free up all of my weekends for fun stuff. I also just got asked to be an assistant to the presenter at a week long Shamanic Reiki workshop at the Omega Institute in upstate NY in early Oct. If all goes well, she is looking to set me up as a national level facilitator/teacher at this and other venues. Not sure what the compensation is for the presenters, but when I took the program there were 50 people attended at $1K/per. Any decent cut of those type of numbers will more than cover all my expenses, plus it's a fun break.

Oh yeah, officially looking to purchase in Boulder now. Gulp.

wooo! Matt and I would love to buy, but we have been terrible about that thing called savings :(

I can probably get to work early once in a while and leave by 4:30.

going to check out the aspen area this weekend and maybe do a big run...
!

I'll climb anything you want, but anything resembling running (ie, jog, trot, brisk walk, anything stiffer than a tortured gait) will result in a swift cam to the skull. Check yer emails.

We just drove up to look at a house (peeking through the windows) on 1.3 acres of heaven. It's 4 miles up Boulder Canyon then 5.5 miles up, with a two car garage workshop, 3 bed, 2 bath, and directly abutting stunning Roosevelt NF land. 20 minute drive through some of the best views in Boulder county to get to Pearl Street. The house itself is very basic and single story, which is exactly what we want; completely comfortable right now but a largely blank slate for me to add our personal touches. We just heard back from the realtor and I am meeting him Tuesday with first option to bid...

Pow!

looks sweet. be careful about zoning laws regarding land abutting national forest / park land. Not that it's always restrictive, but it can be - sometimes very much so.

Still, looks like a nice spot. Good luck!

The process has begun; we should be moving in mid-October right after I get back from New York. We freaking love this place!!!

I took this shot from the front of the shop, and no, I didn't zoom.

There are no restrictions prohibiting me using the full garage as a workshop/studio. One of my first moves will be to cut the roof loose, jack it up whole, and add 2' of height inside. Really, it should only take a weekend.

So psyched for the holidays in our own home!

That looks pretty sweet. Glad you guys found a good place to be.

You think it'll only take a weekend? hmm...

Will you just add some height or really make it bigger?
