I've noticed that every time I get on this board and read the latest post on a particular topic (say, a topic that has 7 pages) it has no relation to the original post. Such is the entropy of a webboard, I suppose. SO - I've come up with a topic that you cannot get off topic on. Have at it. And good luck trying to get off this topic!

so to get off topic on the thread dealing with BEING off topic, does this mean that we have to stay on the topic of being off topic?

Has anyone seen that new movie Adaptation? Damn good film.
It's about time Nicholas Cage "acted" again -he's been in so many films lately that he's just kind of there - I think this movie saved his career.

What's the point of staying on topic? The basis of simple communication is to teach and to learn. To give and receive. This promotes the discussion of one particular topic, then points are made and a new topic is discussed. If people really wanted to stay on topic, it would.

I.E.

500+ replies, still all about being a Norman.

Don't get me wrong here, I'm not trying to be a jerk (believe me, I often am). I'm just making a simple point that during communication, discussions end and begin. Like it does in these threads.

It could be because I don't turn around when you yell, "Hey Bob!" So how scary can I possibly be...if I don't turn around...

Now if you were to call out to me "Rob" or "Robert"...then you might get a response...which may or may not be frightening...I'm not sure...as I never call to myself...um...okay there was that one time long ago last week...but I'm not sure who was talking to me by myself.

Jesus Christ, Mr. Literal.

Okay, why am I afraid of you know, ROBERT?

Is that better? Sorry for the assumption that people call you "Bob". I know three Roberts. On is called "Bob D." and his son is called "Bob D. Jr.". Then my good friend is "Bobby".

No, that's Minnesota. They're the ones known for the dumbies. We're just rude, here.

Watch it next time or I'll beat you to death with a cheese log!

At least it beats:

"Like, oh my God!"

And pawning off crappy wine like it's good stuff, like from the Crappa Valley!

Nope. Here we make great cheese and moderate beer and we're pround of it!

I take it that you generalize the term "we" in making cheese and beer as a collective "we".

Unless of course I have you mistaken...and you're in your cellar, pc in tow, with the moldy milk and the dried hops.

If so...a photo submittal would be grand.

Are the other folks in your area aware that you find them to be rude? Well, that's just plain rude.

Rudeness is the weak man's imitation of strength. - Eric Hoffer

Can't think of anything original to say? Mental capacity is that low that you have to just quote others, instead of thinking on your own?

Figures. You are from California.

Yes, I have some moldy milk and a bin of hopps, would you like a taste?

To answer your other question: Yes, they do know that I think they are rude (and stupid) as I constantly tell them so or run them off the road.

Jackass!

Of course it's a collective "we", Mr. Literal.

"Only the feeble-minded quote others."

-Me

HA! Take that!
