On january 6 I was in Lee Vining canyon and I was belaying my friend up spiral staircase when I heard ,"$#!&"!I looked up to see a guy flying past his belayer on the second pitch of a WI4.After the fall, the guy instanly asked if his belayer was ok,then checked himself out to find a clicking in his ankle.I felt like helping him to the parking lot because I have some first aid skills.I actually think I saw his ankle break when his crampon caught the ice at about 30 feet down from where he fell. But my bro was up this dicey route and there was nothing I could do except say "good luck" as he hobbled past me twords the mile or so icy trail.I dont know what his partner was thinking, letting him decend alone.Well if your out there man,"Good Luck".Jon [ This Message was edited by: sprocket on 2003-01-16 13:33 ]

Sprocket, No worries mate, he's fine, and I believe hanging out in Sweden now. I'm pretty sure his ankle turned out to not be broken, if you can believe that! Murf

Nope I wasn't there. I'm sure he was willing to keep climbing, those boys are serious! Murf
