Just returned from another fun trip to EPC and had a blast. Got to meet some cool rc.com folks and do some climbing and partying. The video of the New Year's Eve g-string bullriding is done, I just have to figure out how to post it. It's definitely one you don't want to miss. So Paul, Lou, Grant, and Josh, thanks for the fun! Oh yeah Paul, I finally got the route. Last try of the the last day. Felt good. --Brent

good to hear from you Brent. I'm sure more tales will be told over the next couple of days of the Mexican antics. I have still to unpack from ice in the Daks and will have to get ready for work soon. Still not sure if I'm glad or not about missing the g-string episode. Many people are scarred for life now.

Well, I suppose I could expand this thread into an overall trip report. It won't get as much attention as the J-tree New Years on this site, but all of us who WERE down there know that Mexico was where the real party was!! Let's see... as for fellow rc.commers that I met down there, I saw crazylikeafawkes and her guy, clymber and darkside came down with me, and of course the famous manboy was there. That was about it. what else to say? hmm... limestone, mechanical bulls, cheap mexican food and beer. 'nuff said. if you weren't there, you missed out big time. cheers, Paul

I was tired of the route so my celebration at the top was pretty muted. I think Tanna made more noise when I grabbed the final jug then I did. If you weren't there you missed out; a good time was had by all. Next year should be even wilder.

Well considering I left the rack at home, something that gave me quite a strange feeling to be pulling it out of the pack, there was plenty more weirdness on the trip too. Welcome to the world of the temporary dirtbag climbers. Here are some of the highlights starting from before the trip so if anything sounds weird, let me know and there may be a story there *Chat room co-ersions. *Multiple PM arm twisting. *Amber agrees to conform. *Credit card screw ups. *Flights booked and bags packed, just in time. *The Bop-It arrives in Dallas, oh and so does Lew with Josh in tow. *Luggage carts are NOT 4wd. *Amber attempts to keep the kids in check in the stores. *Good food and every tattoo store in Dallas. *Lew grows some balls, in his neck. *Toes and a thumb turn black and blue, Josh's nipple turns black from frostbite, indoors. *The "BED INCIDENT", this is good *5am hell no, 3am departure. *Line-ups at the border with a Police escort by "free" girls. *Arrival at EPC, no Lew, I don't know everyone. *Meeting the Queen. *Meeting the Caguama's. *Meeting the climbing. *Meeting the Georgia and Virginia boys. *NEW YEAR. Missing climbers, fireworks, fungus tea, bucking bull and barking pitbull, and Josh's fashion statement. *Cresent Moon Buttress- adventure climbing, bee's, "steep scree", and cactus, with Hanna and Lew. *Departure, hang on we came with four dirtbags and now we are five? *Line ups at the border- go figure INS want to check out the guy with the accent and fellow dirtbags in the beat up Forerunner. "Should we tell them...." no Paul. *Damm it's cold up here in Dallas. *Breakfast at Waffle House....mmmm. Josh has it twice. *The flight to Buffalo is quiet. Damm it's even colder here in Buffalo....good. *Strange looks at the NY Thruway service area. The ground is covered in snow and that dirtbag is wearing shorts !! *Adirondack ice climbing...phat. *What??? you all want to go for Mexican for supper!!!!! Needless to say I have new friends, good memories, and no photo's YET. Got to get that film in and see if there are any goodies. Thanks to all for the belays including Loosaboy in the Daks.

where to start..well i guess i can start with im making plans already for next New Years in Mexico Amber Merry Christmas you can keep the Bop It There is noway I can even start to describe the good times good beer good friends good rock and good everything that happened in Mexico. the only down side to the entire trip was the bloddy nose I got but the pain of the needle going thru the neck made me soon forget the bloody nose..I did get a few remarks about it in Mexico the first from The Queen at Homeros and I quote "What the F@#K is that on your neck. I meet some great ppl the the Georgia crew and the Virgina boys. Im sure the Virgina Boys learned a lesson to never leave the head lamps when they start a 8 pitch 11+ climb at 12:30...SIlly silly southern boys. The film has been dropped off and the pictures are in the process of getting developed sure there will be some posted soon

From e-mail, Amber wrote Quote:you guys are welcome to crash at my place for an early start. Although hardly an epic Amber was very generous to allow us to crash for an early start on the road. Little did she realize. Paul opted for his Bittersweet pad while I opted for the couch where I was sat(shortest approach). Lew realizing it would be the last chance for a bed for over a week took the double bed. Josh expressed an interest in a real bed and Amber disappeared into the second bedroom. Josh disappeared into the bedroom with Lew and the next thing was a loud "crash", not the sort Amber had offered either. The big mystery is what Lew and Josh were doing in the bed, besides sleeping, to make it collapse? I think after that Josh opted for the adjoining couch amidst howls of laughter from Amber, Paul, and myself. Oh the fun of innuendo

I have the bull riding clip done, I just don't have a place to host it. Anyone got room for a small (<1mb) .wmv file? The quality isn't great but it's still funny. --Brent

Brent, Congratulations on doing your route! You earned it! I also sent my route (Surfa Rosa) up there on the same day which was my last climbing day as well. The pressure seemed to help... I should of stuck around to see your send. Trent

Yeah, darkside I changed my username to coop, but for some reason it doesn't work anymore so I'll just stick with this one. The video isn't working for me.

Greetings from the other Georgia boys... The 30 hours of continuous overland travel back to Athens sure were fun. I miss all the dogs, not to mention routes where I can actually use my feet. The last day, Justin, Adam, and Adrian left for Guadalajara. I hope you guys are cranking hard and still alive! Pix will be scanned by this weekend!

Hey Trent, I agree, the pressure helped. Somehow I don't think my send looked as effortless and smooth as yours. As far as the video goes, you might have to save it first and then play it. --Brent
