I just got off the phone with the Forest Service. There was a possibility for closures to be lifted yesterday. They were not. No additional areas were reopened according to the ranger that spoke to me. I told him that I'd pass the word so he's not inundated with phone calls.

Son of a diddly. That sucks.
Well, it's pretty cold now to be out there, but let's hope it gets opened before spring. Left handed jew is one of the nicest 5.7 cracks I've seen.
Anyone have a list of all the areas in the south platte that are closed? Turkey rocks is one of several, right?

It's supposed to be 60 on Sun. I was getting all psyched to go there. I don't have an official list of everything that is closed or open, but I can tell you what I know is open.

These are open (some will close on Mar. 1 for peregrines):

Cathedral Spires area (Bishop, Dome, Sunshine Wall, Wall of Mirrors, Poe Buttress, Block Tower , Cynnical Pinnacle and some lesser formations)

Pine Area (Sphinx Rock, Bucksnort Slab, Squat Rock)

Buffalo Creek Area (Little Scraggy Dome, Asshole Rocks/Butts, Skinner Mtn., and best of all The Castle)

There are other areas that are open, but these areas listed above are where I have been climbing since the first ban was lifted. The S. Rampart Range areas like Parachute Rock may be open also. I'm also pretty sure that the Wigwam Creek and Helen's Dome areas are closed as well.
