Waimea is a blast to climb, what a better place to climb than on an island, itís 80 or so out and you have the ocean behind you! Coming from N. CA it was welcome change to high elevation and granite. I was here visiting in OCT 2002 and found many route possibilities but wasnít sure about where they were or went, so I mostly traversed the rock and made things up. Watch your footing cause sand sticks to your shoes, but big pockets, jugs, and solid intermediate holds will give you peace of mind when you think you may slip off and hit the deck. There are exposed rocks that protrude out beneth; if you go youíll see them. Bring a crash pad. Have fun!

Right On, Several routes and Sand to land on, Great in the winter with waves but going for swim in the summer is pretty sweet as well.
