Highline attachment idea ..... good or bad?

Can't Post

First of all, I want to say that i have never rigged a slackline. And I wont for quite a while. I know practically nothing about it. This is just an idea I had (probably a bad one).

If you fall on a highline, there are enormous forces on the anchors and on the line itself. Could you attach yourself with a "via ferra" lanyard? It would absorb a lot of energy and thus lessen the force on everything else. This obviously wouldn't replace the tripple (I think) redundency for the line, but would (maybe) make it a bit safer.

If this is a bad idea, please say so. I don't want anyone to get any unsafe ideas and I want my unsafe ideas expunged from my mind quickly.

thanks

from Stefan
