sorry 4 another dumb question... but i'm relativly new to this.... How do u find out if a climb is bolted or not and the path to take up the rock so as u can hook in to the bolts. Also does any1 know anywhere in melbourne where i can attend a course on safty for lead climbing. Any info would be great? Thanks.

Find a climbing shop in the area that you climb. Assuming that there is an actual climbing community, they will have maps, books... or just beta for you.

do lots of research! get guidebooks for the areas and read! Talk to locals at the crag or at the climbing shop.

IF you go to your local sports store usually they have guide books...They'll tell you where the bolts are if it's a sport climb

Usually if you have a guidebook for your area it will tell you.
