Check out http://www.raccoonmountain.com/index.htm they have tent sites for like 12$ a night. not the cheapest, but it'll get you a shower. you'll be a 20 minute drive from twall. the camping at twall itself is primitive - 10 minute drive to nearest store for bathroom good luck! o.k.

you can camp at foster falls for 10 per night or there are walk in primitive sites for free. showers, bathrooms and a pay phone. it is about 30 min to t-wall, though. try to camp somewhere you can leave your stuff or stash everything in one car at some camping area and take nothing to the crag that will stay in your car. they caught the latest t-wall thief, but i am still very leary about leaving anything valuable in your car. this guy has been guilty of the last 6 months of break-ins but i think the locals just arent keen on climbers and break-in out of spite. people have had thousands in stuff stolen and ruined roadtrips. so if you can leave your stuff elsewhere and leave nothing in sight, do so. some people go so far as to leave there cars unlocked with the windows down. just a heads up... check www.seclimbers.org for more info...

I will be down in TN with Orangekyak and a bunch of other people - we're camping at Fosters - climbing sat at Fosters and Sunday at Twall (Climbing monday and tuesday too) So if any of you are interested in meeting up - shout out soon - we're leaving Toronto tonight and arriving in the mornin. Word If I were you I would rethink the climbing at Twall thing on Saturday - there is a trail day going on and those working are not too friendly to people walking by and climbing (this was from a different thread).

hey kevin, if you guys are from out of town, which you and lew are, go ahead and climb at t-wall. we would love for you to enjoy the area!!! i will personally talk to anyone who gives you crap. i have actually told people to quit working and go climb because they were from out of town and had limited time to climb in the south. i am sure kirk brode, who will be running the trail day, feels the same. if the people walking by are regulars, as they often are, they deserve the looks they get but i usually take a second to ask where people are from before i ask if they want to help. enjoy!!

If you're not a local and visiting, then nobody is going to expect you to work on the trail (they should see the plates on your car). However, if you are recognized as a local climber (Atlanta, Chatanooga, Nashville, etc.) and abstain from helping at all, then you can expect some grief. It would be cool of visitors to pick up a couple items of litter if they see any. That will take about 10 sec. out of your trip.
