September in Yosemite is usually perfect!...one of the nicest months of the year in my opinion. Warm, sunny days but not too hot. For this reason it is also one of the most crowded in terms of climbers. Tourists haven't thinned out either. Keep in mind that the weather in Yosemite is never entirely predictable. Although September usually experiences very stable weather you could run in to a miserable heat wave or an early pacific storm that brings snow.

I was there late September last year and got rained/hailed on one day and the next day was perfect. Just make sure you are ready to retreat when the clouds come in.

If the Valley is still VERY hot, you can always "commute" to Tuolumne. My Norwegian guests had to settle for Tuolumne last September. If you want specifics, PM me.

September is about the best month to go, unless you want to take pictures of raging waterfalls. In that case, May is better.

My experience is that it really starts thinning out in the Valley after Labor Day weekend...which is September 1st. Thinning out, I mean tourists mostly
