i work for the military i've been in other countries for over 2 years now i'll be home in about 2 weeks i was wondering if anyone could show me some good places to climb not too far from middle tn. reply if you have any info please.

Goto Chattanooga there is tons of climbing there sport and trad. Im sure if you give exact dates it might help you find a partner. I was just down there the begining of March. From what I saw its mostly 9s and over unless there some spot i didnt see. Not thats Im complaing about the grades I had a blast

Go to www.seclimbers.org for information on climbing areas in Tennessee. Peruse the message board over there and see if you can hook up with any locals. If you are back in time, make sure you go to the Foster Falls Climbfest, there's a great line up of activities and entertainment, including music by Kurt Smith, and slide shows by Peter Croft and Jeff Lowe. there are a lot of routes >9 at tennesse wall, they are trad... lew is right about the sport routes at foster's... mostly 9 and over... there is SO much climbing in that area... pick up a copy of the Dixie Cragger's Atlas by Chris Watford - tennessee, alabama and georgia and PM: biggernhell tradpuppy deafclimber pinnaclechick ljthawk mike timhink (bouldering - for an awsome rocktown tour!!!) they are good, safe people...and will share their time and expertise... happy climbing dude..i am envious!!!

If you are going to be in middle tenn. you need to check out the obed/clear creek areas. good sport climbing and bouldering.

yeah, T-wall is the stuff. But also dont overlook sunset in the Catty area. Also if you are near Nashville be sure to check out Kings Bluff. This is a limestone sport area that is owned by the SCC. There is some great climbing in Tennessee. Give me a shout if I can help at all. stewart
