This forum is not growing very fast. Has everyone decided to pick up a new style? Am I living in the past?

Yes, sport climbing is so '90s.

There are usually alot of sport climbers around here. Maybe they are just afraid to admit it.

J-Tree's not a sport destination... While there are some bolted "sport" routes there, most are very runout... It's a Trad destination.

Sport climbers are everywhere, they just aren't as vocal. Hard core traditionalists like to defend against the bolt but what can we sport climbers defend against. "Hey, that cam is damaging the rock, stick a bolt instead will ya!!"

rrradam, I agree with you about JTree being a trad destination but....

the sport routes that are there are of HIGH quality.

Jane's Addiction, and Be Bop Tango are two of my favorites.

Cheers, Ammon

Cactus Flower (also in the Hall of Horrors with Janes Addiction) is another good Sport climb. Unfortunately I can't do the direct start, I'm just too damn short.
And what about Run for your Life? Another good "sporty" climb in J-tree

Was there ever any serious sport climber out there that thought that sport was going to be the apex of all their climbing desires? Or did they all secreatly know that some day they would eventually be doing trad or something else.
