I just got a job with the USFS for the summer and I will be located in Chemult. I have never been to Oregon but a quick look at the Rock n Road didn't show much climbing near there except Mt Thielson. What is it like and is there anything else close. Thanks in Advance Allan

Looking at the map, you're not too far from Smith Rock...the best sport climbing anywhere, however, it will be quite hot. Mt. Thielson is an alpine climb...it's a mountain. The easiest route is easy fifth class, most people solo it, but I think there's a multi-pitch 5.7 on the north face. There's tons of bouldering opportunities around Crater Lake, but I doubt any of it is "establishe", you'll have to just go exploring.
