I agree, i just happened to be down in Asheville for a recent college visit with my family. So basically i was looking for a way to spend a few hours, and i ran across this small town bouldering gym. I LOVED THE PLACE! haha i envy anyone who lives around there it's beautiful, im sure many would agree.

Where is that at? I used to work at a gym called Climbmax Climbing Center in Tempe, Az. It's gone now though. Bummer 'cause the bouldering was way fun.

I went to Climbmax in Asheville not too long ago, I was very disappointed...minimal padding on the floor and most of the routes weren't taped or a lot of the tape had fallen off. There was only one problem in the bouldering cave. Maybe I went at a bad time and should check it out again.

Hey guys, just wanted to post a follow up since some of the stuff here is old. The past year route setting has become much better. We have a head route setter who resets walls every 2 months or so(and I guarantee there are some gnarly problems in the cave!) . The floors have been totally re-done with high density foam, so there's no more chopped rubber bullshit. Totally awesome staff.

While visiting asheville, I went to climbax for a workout and was very disapointed. Lots of awkward boulder problems with one foot starts and a low dingy toprope wall inside with more awkward routes. Poor padding. I was sad.
