I am looking to find some people to climb with. My partner is going to be kool with sundays but I would like to go on other days and do bouldering. My friend likes doing sport routes so he will be fulfilling my rope climbing BUT I love doing bouldering. Nothing like walk into a boulder field, plopping down and finding some problems. I climb up at Kendall Cliffs near Akron or for people that really have a clue in hell I am talking about the Hudson, Penisula area. Simple way to get there, take turnpike, get off on route 8 and head towards blossom stadium exit, exit 303 i believe for huson penissula or something or another. Once off there its straight shooting till Truxell Road and make a right onto truxell its not even 600 feet till u see the sign, god hates ohio for not having good rocks, Except at Lisbon(started this spring), Hinckley (never been there). I am open to climbing on ropes, or bouldering, just depends on what you want to do. Feel free to bombard me with messages.

Hey i've been climbing at kendall cliffs for about two years now. Maybe i've seen you there. I enjoy bouldering although ropes are my true passion. If you wanna meet up there sometime let me know. Hinkley is good but i have never been to Lisbon. Let me know i'm usually @ kendell two or three days a week.

Yes, being a climber in Ohio is a hard life. I don't think I could have stuck to climbing if I didn't move out here to SoCal. I know if I was still in Akron, I'd be spending my paychecks on gas for trips to the Gunks, Seneca, the New, etc. But now I have the problem of deciding which crags to go to on all these sunny days(and gas prices over $2) If your ever out this way I'd be happy to show a fellow Ohio climber around :)

Hey, i've been looking for a partner too in NE ohio area. I just got done with school down at OHio Univ. and moved back up here. I"ve done some climbing at Kendall cliffs also. I'm looking for a partner to go there with, and maybe take some weekend trips to the red, new, etc. I'm game for bouldering or rope routes. I like ropes better. If interested email me back at nickpatzakis@yahoo.com

Hey guys/gals, Been climbing for about 2 years, mostly indoors at Kendall Cliffs. Done some tope roping out at Hinkley. Have TP set-up and all of my own gear. I climb 5.7 5.8 and 5.9 (on a good day) I can get out on Wednesdays and ever other weekend, sometimes every weekend. I'd love a trip to the Red this summer. Might go down to Seneca Rocks and take a trad course too. Drop me a line if interested, Al

As long as you want to climb, that is my happiness! email me at plastic2@earthlink.net if your interested. I usually will setup at TR versus bouldering.. and I usually try to make it to the New once a weekend. EMAIL ME period. I am looking for people to climb with. Ok?

A good TR set-up can't be had at Wal-Mart. Get some various lengths of climbing webbing and some locking biners. Just remember the acronym R.E.N.E. Redundant Equilization with No Extension. Be sure to have at least two solid anchors as close to each other as possible. That way if one breaks, you won't be pulled sideways (and possibly into a tree, boulder etc.) Al P.S. E-mail me if you want some more info.

Don't tell me I'm not redundant. I use multiple ply in my TP set up when I can afford it. There is plenty of good TP gear at Walmart.

Jhump, Well if money is a factor then just buy the cheap (100 lb) stuff and have you girlfriend/wife help you braid it!! That way it'll be three times stronger, four if you use French braids. Three or four hundred pound ratings should hold a fall. BTW, the real deals are at K-Mart or Home Depot. Safe climbing, Al

for anybody in NE ohio... first of all, i would encourage anyone climbing at hinckley to obey their regulations. problems with rangers will only result in more problems for climbers at hinckley. heres some contact info i found. im not sure how accuarte it is. "...Hinckley Reservation Metropark, but be advised... permits are required! They're free with proof of $300,000 combined bodily injury and property damage insurance, and can be requested from: Visitors Services Division Cleveland Metroparks Administative Offices 101 Fulton Parkway Cleveland, OH 44114 Telephone: (216) 351-6300" if you climb there on any sort of regular basis, or plan to, just get a permit. if you have homeowners or renters insurance, you should be fine. http://www.rockclimbing.com/...Area.php?AreaID=1304 for those of you looking for a place to climb, theres also the cleveland rock gym. http://www.clevelandrockgym.com its located right off of I-90. not sure how long you guys have been climbing, but in my opinion its a little more friendly than kendall. you dont get the attitude at crg, that you do at kendall.
