Does anyone have experience with solo belay devices (Silent Partner, rigged Gri-Gri, etc.)? If so, what works best, and why?

OK, evidently you're new so I'll point you in the right direction.

Your question has already been answered HERE. You'll find a few more good tips HERE.

If you look up and right, there is a "Search" link next to the "Private Messages" and "FAQ" links. You can put in key words and phrases to find stuff like this.

If you post a reply, you will advance it to the top of the heap where some of us will notice.

Sending me a PM (private message) to point it out wouldn't hurt, either.

Cheers,

Dr. Pee'd On

I've been rope-soloing (single-pitch trad) for about 6 months with the Silent Partner. It is the only device I have ever used for this and, in my limited experience, I think it works great.

I top-roped with this device for 6 months before I started leading with it. My only complaint would be that it feeds hard on top-rope.
