Private Joker, I thought all that came from Texas were steers and Queers.

You must do Finger Stinger, Thieves and Assholes, Connect the Pockets, Immigrant (fun solo), Pee Wees and Line Left. That's a few of the really good ones. The cool thing to do out there is take 60 feet of static line and tie butterfly knots in it every 5 feet. Instead of toproping with you climbing line, anchor the static line from the top, and then lead all your routes. (Use the knots as bolts, and clip into them as you climb) People look at you like you're a genius (or like you're weird) because you figured out how to lead at Mineral Wells. The bouldering out in the trees past the canyon is fantastic.

Was out there 2 days ago for the 1st time. You get a "route map" when you sign in. I did several of the 5.8 - 5.9+ and they were fun climbs. Pee Wee looks awesome - a little above my level, though. Good goal to aim for! It's fun for a day - not too hot down in the canyon. Have fun!

Yup yup yup.. Tried a couple of those.. Right now my project is the Diving Board.. I'm a pretty heavy dude, 230 lbs., so any overhang is gonna be quite a challenge.. J.

Last time I was out there was in October or is that Rocktober. My son and I climbed the usual routes that have been listed. Since that time we have stuck mostly to POB with an occasional trip to Reimers and "the place that must not be named". We like POB vs. MW because you can lead 'till the cows come home and you don't have to spend the time setting top ropes like at MW. Also at POB we haven't run into boy scouts doing the rap thing. I love boys scouts and I love to watch kids in general but when they are on something you want to climb, I'm not the most patient person in the world. What I like about MW is; 1) sticky rock 2) a few fun climbs 3) 1.45 minutes away from my house 4) nice camp sites 5) it was my second place to climb outside 6) met some God inspiring people there
