Excellent place for beginners. short route from 5.4 up to 5.13something like d. Sport and toprope. ALLROUTE MUST BE LEAD, OR TRAVERSED TO TO SET UP TOPROPES, AND DON"T TOP OUT. THE TOP OF THE BLUFF IS PRIVATE PROPERTY. also when you get there find out where the quite zone is and be quite whilee climbing there. Let me know and I will be more than happy to meet you there to show you around if you like. I'll be there most of the day tomorrow (Sun.8-10-03). Come on down. Steve

Also, the fence is padlocked. Find out the combination before you make the journey.

Shank is right, Kings is a great place for beginners. However, topropes can only be set up from the ground (lead first). If topropes are set up, please don't just thread rope the anchors, use draws or runners. The place has gone through a rebirthing stage since the SCC purchased the land. New routes are appearing on a monthly basis. Check out SCC's website for more info.... http://www.seclimbers.org/areas/tennessee/kings-bluff.shtml
