My daughter is coming home for a visit from college in Idaho. She's just getting into climbing... anybody interested in taking us on the quartzite? We would both be happy to belay and would appreciate the opportunity to hone our skills. We're free on the days listed above.

Unfortunately, I'll be out of town..

If nothing else pans out, you could always get a "guided" day from Adventure Rock or another guide service out there. Just an idea..

Good luck though..

I can't make it to Devil's lake the dates you mentioned, but I would love to climb there. I have a pretty good trad rack, and would love to head up for a weekend of climbing sometime. pm me if you would be interested. I usually climb at the Red, and would be happy to return the favor and show you around down there.

You should just go on up to the East Bluffs and you will find someone to climb with.
Although I haven't been back there for 9 years now I climbed at DL for over 20 years and I know the folks there are friendly and always willing to help beginners. Do be careful, though, and make sure whoever you hook up with is safe and knows what they are doing.

If you do go this route.. definitely be careful with who you climb with. Check out their top-rope sets, how they belay, etc. I've seen some crazy stuff their lately. And, it's getting worse.. but, that's another topic. Just be careful..

A great time to come up to the lake would be the GTG planned for Sept.
There'll be plenty of people around to show you the area, as well as ropes to share. Just FYI..

Are you looking for somone to climb with just those days, Monday, Thursday and Saturday. I could probably swing going there on Monday if I had some notice. I have been climbing for 7 years and at Devils Lake since the beginning so I know my way around and know how to set safe tr's. I have enough gear for two toprope setups. Let me know soon if your interested.
