Get the new and improved ab roller plus!!! Or wait 8 minute abs is a good workout too. Developing a good 6 pack involves more than just sit-ups and weight training. I recommend a 2-5 mile run at least 3 times a week. This will help you lose some excess weight and will make your sit-ups more productive. There are also different variations of sit-ups that will help to burn fat and tone your ab muscles. If you don't have time I just saw this infomercial for asn electronic device that you wear like a belt it's about the size of a WWF belt!! I would not recommend this!!! Hope this helps a little.

there are a thousand different factors.

what are your family genes? some people simply have a higher natural metabolic rate (i.e. people who are endo-,meso, or dang i forgot the 3rd one)

a big part is what do you eat? you could run 10 miles a day and still get chubby if you eat 15000 calories a day. you have to find out what your particular body's caloric needs are, and then alter your diet to be less than that.

also what type of weight training do you do? high reps (> 10 with medium weights a good for toning muscle but not much else in my opinion) >20 reps with low weight is good cause it gets your heart rate up. [ This Message was edited by: rigel on 2002-02-02 19:41 ]

Boy, sounds like Woodse covered it all.

Eight minute abs is a great system for hitting the entire abdominal region, and not feeling like you spent all day working them. If you do it right, you will feel like you got hit by a bus the next day.

Now the bad news, I don't remember where I read it, one of the "sport/fitness" magazines, but there was some research done that indicated that 75% of the population cannot develop six packs for genetic reasons, I must fall into the 75%, 2 pack is as much as I can see

Oh well,

Dude... ihad a six pack once... but i drank em all i dunno... i cna't seem to get a nice six pack going. sometimes if i have been running a lot and really watched what i have eaten... then i can almost see a six pack. im not sure whats up myself because i am rather active... eat pretty well... but i can't seem to get rid of the little flab on my stomach... or love handles. if you saw me you would think i was a stick... but i can't seem to get rid of that little "jiggle". ahh well i am working on it more right now!

You must know this though...its a common misconception. You just might have the strongest abs in the world but it doesnt mean you can see them. Go ahead and do any ab workout and want and you wont see them. I guarentee it. The reason is there is a layer of fat over the muscle. So while your abs are getting stronger and strong that fat still stays there. Do the same routine but eat a heathly carb diet or something around the sort. Also run, it will help burn off calories. After you get that layer of fat off you will see those long earned abs

First of all...STOP WITH THE BEER. My opinuin its the only way to get a 6-8pack. And remember, it's not neccesarrily having big abbs, its getting the fat off of you stomach which will show them....So i agree with above...Do some calory burning. Go for a run!
By the way...leg raizes are better than normal sit-ups.

The Navy SEAL workout is guaranteed to either give you a 6-pack (or better), or cause you an agonizing death. Currently, it's KILLIN' me. If you are interested, PM me and I'll send it to you, or better yet, get yer own stinkin' book. Seriously, I'll explain it to anybody who is serious and wants to know. Be prepared to dance with pain, though...

First off...your abs are like every other muscle group DO NOT work them everyday, 2-3 times a week is good with a day rest in between. Also change your diet, you probably have a super six pack but a layer of loathesome fat is just covering them up. Drink lots of water and cut back on your fat and refined sugar intake.

thats exactly what i said Burn off the fat and you'll see the abs. Usually if you flex your abs, take two fingers and press then firmly up and down your stomach you'll feel the six pac. Just cant see it though. Plus you cant target train or just burn off fat from the stomach. Once on a diet all your body loses fat so expect to lose some weight

the muscles for your abs are already there just gotta get rid of the chub layer over them, just yell obsenities at realy big guys and run you'll have a six pack in no time, or you'll need one. I personally only have one ab! probably too many six packs.!

I accredit my 6-pack to running, running is what has kept me in great shape. When I say running I don't mean this avgerage 9min mile pace.
7:30min Mile on my slow days and killer work outs once or twice a week. Stuff like repeat 400's, 800's, mile's, and two miles. Killer stuff that leaves you with your breakfast on the side of the road.
