My climbing buddies moved out west a year or two ago, and I have not been motivated to find new ones since then. My fiance won't go because he has no interest in it (I think it's really because he's scared that I could actually beat him at something!). So I'd like to get back in the game, and I'm looking for partners that are available to climb indoors Saturdays or late on weeknights. I don't do anything too fancy, because I'm too out of shape and out of practice. I've just been a couple times on the auto belay lately. I was a belay b@#$% for awhile at Galyan's, so I have lots of experience with that. No lead climbing experience, though. So if you are more of a casual climber, let me know & we can go climb!

I would love to do RRG, but's that's a pretty long haul. I will monitor that forum and let you guys know if there's anything I can join in on. I read the one on the job situation, and you're better off not doing QC and not working at Abbott! I have a family of scientists and haven't heard many good things about either :-)

Hi Christine, My name is Bill and I'm in a similar situation. My climbing partner moved back to Toronto area. I've climbed outdoor about 4 days this year. I climb in the 5.7-5.8 range. I'm heading up there to climb October 4. I can meet either Saturdays or late weeknights. I married for 15 years so I'm safe. I've done a lot of outdoor top rope set up and belay, so indoor is no problem. Where do you climb? Bill

I used to go to Vertical Reality in Aurora a lot. I've also been to Vertical Endeavors in Warrenville, Hidden Peak in Chicago and Upper Limits in Bloomington. I've only been outdoors a few times at Devil's Lake. I am definitely willing to try new places or go back to any of these. I don't think I'm available this weekend, but let me know if any of you guys are available next weekend (27th). I am not a morning person, so probably around 11 or noon would be good for me. Please just go ahead and email me at xine78@yahoo.com, because for some reason I am not notified when people reply to the post.
