Well, just waking up after another amazing gathering :D I'm so sore I can barely walk, but I've got a huge grin on my face!! ....wait. That doesn't sound right. Anyhoo, lots of great climbing...a full-on tour of QC bouldering by taorock, Atlantis, Upper Devils Canyon, the Homestead...I wish I could have gotten to it all! I'll post more later on all the festivites later, but I'd like to put up the list of RC.commers that came. Please correct me if I leave you out, as there were a lot of people there and I'm not completely sure who was from RC.com and who wasn't. Friday night ivanm (Ivan...M ;)) wpy71 (Bill) curt (Curt...:p) kam_ill_eon (David, Riley & Co.) taorock (Brent aka Shiatsu MASTER!) sonso45 (Manny aka Provider of All Things Yummy) imnotafraid (Bob aka ...Bob) beercanclimber (Chris) climbthedj (Charles aka Steve) jt512 (Jay) Saturday stick223 (Rob & Bethany) rock_diva (Shelley & friend) up2top (Ed) ebelay (Eric) me_lad (Maurice & Lauren) climblouisiana (Dale) climbsomething (Hillary & Co.) lilred (Meghan & Mark) fastestgun (Jon) climbs4fun (Kelly) bill_branch (Bill & Co. donning full 'Fro wear!) So...which RC.commers did I miss? ~Erica

Oh, the fun we had. Nice party, great company, and stellar climbing. I have a few flappers to show for my efforts. Amazingly, they are from the climbing at the Homestead yesterday and not from QC. That's some damn sharp limestone! I'm not sure who else was there other than those on your list, but there were at least twice that number on Saturday night. I met a bunch of people but am doing a poor job of placing the user alias with their actual name. So if you're not on the above list, post up and refresh my memory! Ed

Alex! Hell yeah, Alex was there! Had a couple of proud leads, too. Keep the Subie running, dude. You've gotta get up here more often. JBone! You crazy bastard! Nice job with the route development up there. I have no idea how you found that stuff, but you must have really wanted to get there. I've never driven so farr off road to get to a sport climbing area. I was more like a back country roadie. Weather was freakin HOT! And we started on the wall across from Welcome wall (it had shade). I pulled on the 10a's at either end of the wall, and Jay got the 11 furthest to the left. Went over to welcome wall when it went in the shade and did some of the 8's - 10's. Everything looks nice, and it's clear you guys put some serious effort into developing the crag. Sport climbing (especially the "past vertical" stuff) isn't really my thing, but what can you do when you're hanging out with a bunch of sport weenies.  Much thanks for your investment of enery and effort. Next time I'm bring my aid gear back and I'll do hook moves between bolts. Heck, that's about the only way I'm going to get up some of that steep stuff. We all had a good time and climbed nearly until sun down. Thanks for the topo, JBone! A couple of guys had the one from your website and it kept us in the right ball park. Ed

Thanks to Bob for "The Toilet Song" Another hit! So I am going to publically announce that I had my first "fun" day bouldering ever. As some of you know I have not been the biggest fan, but yesterday was a blast. The combination of good friends, my girl, shade and beer made for quite an enjoyable afternoon, which summarily ended 10 minutes after a shower when I feel asleep. Good times, all. I'll be around PHX most weekends, let's climb again. (Still want to venture into the LDC...) Rob p.s. if you took pictures, could you post them?!?!?

What can you say, I certainly had a great time. Climbing at Atlantis saturday morning, the fun hike up the scree field with Climbs4fun, the afternoon at Upper Devils Canyon, the great food back at the campsite (thanks for making the arrangements Manny) , watching Rob's dog get molested, the campfire, Bob's Toilet song. Follow that up with a great day at the homestead with Jay, Hillary, Ed , Alex, and Cole. I think the Homestead crew were definitely the last ones to depart as we rolled out of Oak Flat at about 8:30 last night. Thanks to everyone, and especially Erica, it was great weekend.

Jbone, Homestead is a great crag, lots of sweet lines. We mostly got on a bunch of the 10a's. I had two dogged leads on the welcome wall, the two 10a's that were right next to eachother. Ed, thanks for the props, I know I didn't earn many style points on those leads. That draw I grabbed stays between us right? Visit www.climbaz.com for info on the fall beanfest. It was great to meet some of the people from the site, Ed, Jay, Kelly I hope to climb with all of you again. Hillary, I can't wait to see how those pictures came out.

And we still have no idea where the really wet spot on Liz's pants came from. Kelly's signature seems perticularly pertinent today. Rob, you need to keep your pooch away from the single guys. Especially the fur covered lads with a tail. And Beercanclimber.

What a GREAT TIME!!! Had a blast on Saturday getting to see some of QC steller bouldering areas thanks to Brent (taorock) and Curt (curt). Friday, Saturday nights were a blast....I hope nobody minded the guitars too much ;-) I know at least not for the "Toilet Song" (written and performed live by Bob (imnotafraid)). A special thanks to Erica and Manny (maps, signs, food, etc....!) All in all...great climbing/bouldering and great people!!!!!!!! Ivan :D :P :D

I'm intrested to know what lines you got on too.. What was the weather like.. Shade/Sun? Keep on 'steadin JBone Yes. Would like the full topo. Can you send me a copy at the email address listed in my profile? I was very impressed with the Homestead. I think if I lived anywhere in AZ I'd make it my home crag during the winter. We climbed from about 1 pm to sunset. Started at Bone Town. I climbed the 10a on the far left side of the wall and the 11a, Wishbone. Regarding the 10a: Dude, how do you know that stacked-block towel bar is going to hold? I was totally praying that while yarding on that thing to make the clip. Wishbone is an awesome route. I have about a 90% onsight rate at 11a, but couldn't get this one in 2 attempts. The route felt at least 11c to me, though, admittedly, I'm not used to climbing routes that steep. Temperatures were ok in the shade, but just barely. Luckily the humidity felt extremely low. When the sun hit the wall (4:00ish), it immediately became unbearably hot. At that point we sought shade over at the Warmup Wall. I did the two 10a's there and thought both were good. Definitely not gimme's either. Nice job on the crag. I wish I lived closer. -Jay

Word. The Homestead is an awesome crag. That place'll get you STRONG. Overhung limestone rox yer dome. Kicks your ass too, but that's cool :) It definitely deserves more attention. Names of routes we got on: BONETOWN: Milk Bone (put your thin vert face specialist on this and watch me... er, him/her, fly!), Wish Bone (just Jay), Knuckle Sandwich (sweet moves, and it's not every day you get to jam a crack at your friendly local limestone sport crag!). Then, at WARM-UP WALL: Crystal Pistol, Hoodoo Voodoo, Blue Lime Pie, and Mellow Messiah (just Jay and Kole, since we were running out of daylight :( ). That wall will in fact warm you up! If it seems like I am just loitering in this thread, well, I am. In about an hour I'll have my photos back though :)
