Sigh. Im back in the office after a a pristine CAVU( Clear and visibility unlimited) weekend with the greatest bunch of people I've had the pleasure of meeting in a while. Ill be posting the pics and stats here shortly after I re-numb myself to the drone of work...... Overall impression: Colorado RC.commers have the best gatherings, I talk alot, even more if we're all drinking, and that Day one is the point to shoot for when gathering. More in a few.....

It took me until Sunday afternoon to fully recover from Friday night, and I am used to drinking with Russian miners. Good god.

Good lord. I can't lift my arms above my chest. Thank god for good-humored rope guns. :) Thanks to everyone who showed up. I enjoyed climbing and drinking with some old and new friends.

geez, you people have to learn to get to bed earlier. you can't have an alpine start if you're drinkin' and stinkin' until 4 am! then again ... as atg200 said to me in a drunken stupor as i strapped up and prepared to rocket out the door well before sunrise, "you're fukkin' weird."

Don't believe these guys. It was more like a church social or bible camp weekend. They couldn't even stay up drinking past 4:30 am. What a bunch of lightweights.

I had trouble remembering everyone's names.... two Jason's, two Jeremey's, two Jeff's, and two Kelly's. It was even harder to remember names after the 12th or 13th bottle of IPA. And Geo? You are wierd... in a good sort of way. It was a heck of a good time... thanks for the memories.

pffffffffffttt 0430, when i zipped up I distinctly remembered some glow from the east reaching into the stratosphere...of course that could have been my dome light too. Geez, i didnt even have to deploy my back up secondary liver for this trip, and after reading the trip report from the last event, i was afraid i might need dialysis and an " intervention from AA" by the time it was all said and done... Geo, has anyone ever told you that you look like a Benevolent but Bawdy Mr Clean? If not ill be the first, and certainly not the last, and I was waiting for a nudge, or a soft kick from any early risers: If you dont see me encumbered with SCUBBA ( Scantily Clad Undulating Bodacious Breathing Assistant) then im ready to go in 10 mins or less, you'll get enough sleep when youre dead...My total sleep tally from Weds night through Mon morning today is 22 hours. Im either schizophrenic or just lucky. Thanks to Skibby for the wonderful Italian gastronomie extraordinaire, it was a great base to apply large amounts of EtOH and caffeine, Next time id love to help out. All of you were the best diversion form my crappy work schedule and re-instilled into me the necessity of pushing away from that desk and spending quality time with quality people Jeff(reno) heres the list in arrivals as the showed up: Jeremy, Jason L, Jason A, Jeff(you) Jeff(jeffersmz) Kelly (trad_kelly), Kelly(kcrag) Geo, Skibby, Scott, Nate, Andrew, Amber, then Sat am we gained Fran, Josh and Elena(pronounced L an Uh) and later that evening Carson. Apparently i didnt drink enough because i remembered too much, and I do have about an hour of video, and 5 rolls of pics that ill discreetly send off to you for a handsome fee of course. And hell, I may even get onthe sharp end next time too....

Wish I could have made the road trip up for this one, but as you know, we had our own little AZ gathering this weekend. The only reason I'd ever leave AZ is to hit up some of the remarkable stuff up in CO. Add in the bonus of a chance to meet Skibby, Flamer, Trac, ATG, and others...hard to pass up. See you next time! You guy's are a damn fine group of people....well in a really twisted kind'a way. Here's some of my favorite quote's, exchange's, and other stuff: Montanara said: "nobody expect's the spanish inqusition!" Clymbr_chk- WILL FROM THIS DAY FORTH BE referred TO AS "TOAD" A really cool exchange Between Carson(freeballn) and myself.... Carson, "that was the best roof I've ever climbed!"- after finishing Bat Crack on Batman rock. Me- "Oh yeah? Follow me!"- Then Me "Now what's the best roof you've ever climbed?" after climbing the Ultra Classic Clowntime is over, also on Batman rock- Carson" :D "....Thanks for climbing with me Carson I had fun. I also owe a special apology to all the drivers between Estes and DIA on Sunday afternoon/evening, for my High speed driving antics...I had to make sure Amber got to the Airport on time!! josh

I'm well past 24 hours since I was on the rocks, and my body STILL hurts. My liver? That's beyond pain... I may never drink beer again. Ignore that last statement... what was I thinking? Next meeting: Winter ascents and back country skiing at Martha's crib. Someone bring the wine.

This was good. This was SO good. This was the epitome of all that ever was good and all that will ever be good. Home, alive, one ticket (a warning, basically, for DWLS, driving while looking scruffy in western Kansas) 8 solid hours of racktime, 4 hours of playing with the photos, and I'm ready for 8 more hours of sleep....hell make it 18... "....still wasted after allll these years, OHHHH, still wasted after all these years..." :-) Awesome trip peeps, the best I can recall. So many good people and good memories I can't even begin to name them, but there's more than 300 pictures and that's a good place to start. Back to the salt mines....

ps: for those interested, i finally spoke with the attorney, and it looks like it will be an additional 3-4 weeks before mediation happens. i'm trying to put fire under someone's butt .. but am having a difficult time of it. apparently, the court clerk has more work than she can handle right now .. i'm thinking of offering to be of temp service and kill two birds with a single stone .. it could be as few as two weeks if we could get the dang court order.

Hey Nate, thanks for the pictures. I downloaded a couple of me, hope you don't mind. I put up some pix and a description. There's one page for each day. They shouldn't take too long to download, between 1 and 4 minutes on my 56k dial-up connection, and once they're fully down you can right click on each to view a full size version that you've already downloaded. Wednesday http://host1.in-motion.net/~jefft/mountains/rmnp/01_Wednesday/ Thursday http://host1.in-motion.net/~jefft/mountains/rmnp/02_Thursday/ Friday http://host1.in-motion.net/~jefft/mountains/rmnp/03_Friday/ Saturday http://host1.in-motion.net/~jefft/mountains/rmnp/04_Saturday/ Sunday http://host1.in-motion.net/~jefft/mountains/rmnp/05_Sunday/ Don't laugh at my code, I suck at HTML. If it doesn't work right let me know and I'll try to fix it.

Hey Geo, What happened? On Sunday Morning you came up to me and asked...."Hey Josh, What's a good route in the 5.10 range? Maybe 4 pitchs?" I then pointed you at the Lumpy ultra classic; Fat City(5.10c). You said "Great" I gave you the details and off we all went. Now all I'm hearing is tales of epic 's on single pitch 5.9's??? What you don't trust my opinion of a good climb??? josh

we [b:85ddb80d96]thought [/b:85ddb80d96]we'd warm up on that 5.9 and then head to fat city, but it turned out to be a vile, evil piece of crap that sucked the very life and will to live right out of the top of our heads. i have never butchered an easy climb as badly in my life. i'm thinking about going back with a couple of sacks of quick-crete and fixing that finger crack before it has a chance to kill again.
