Could anyone tell me what the general weather conditions might be around the end of may at Red Rocks. Is the climbing on sandstone?

Climbing is on sandstone, and the weather will be perfect in May. Maybe a little on the warm side. rrrADAM

Yup, it will be toasty, as its already been a bit warm. There are plenty of routes on the north facing cliffs, if you give me a rating range I can definitely recommend some good routes for hot days.

Although the climbing is sandstone, a lot of it has this covering, interspersed with the sandstone coming thru, of bullet hard black "patina" that makes a lot of good edges.
