Me and a group of friends are thinking of putting together yet another MidWest based climbing site. We planned on it being like this site, on a smaller scale, for just those lucky enough to be climbing in the MidWest portion of the US. What do you guys think? I need some feedback, would you guys use it ? would you post ? or would you still use this website instead ? We were planning on having everything this site has, Regulated Forums, photos, updates, news, and all that jazz. I think it could be really nice for a secluded site specially built for us, but PLEASE give me some feedback and tell me what you guys think! Thanks -mike

As one who´s stuck in the midwest for college (wrong choice...ugh) here´s my two cents: To put it bluntly, there´s not enough climbing in the midwest to warrant another site. Devil´s lake has one. The Red has one. There are other sites for cliffs in Minnesota and elsewhere. Of all these, IMHO, the red in the only worthwhile place (if that counts as the midwest) -- the lake sucks, or should I say, the constant influx of trailer trash, toproping idiots, and day crowds sucks. If I were you, I´d take the time you´d spend on the site and spend it climbing...html ain´t gonna make you stronger or more experienced. >>for just those lucky enough to be climbing in the MidWest portion of the US. PLEASE. I hope that´s a joke. Go out west, or east, or south for that matter...then you´ll see what real climbing is.

I guess RC.com counts KY, Ill., and SD as the MidWest, so I suppose you do. But those places aren't anywhere near Kansas City, unless my geography fails me. KC's what? Nine hours from So. Ill? What about the RRG? Colin

In reply to: Yeah, I hate to be a California rock snob... but you guys have rocks in the MidWest? Colin Hey, we've got....uhm....ok, we've got corn. And some soybeans. Don't make fun! On the topic of a website, there's so many little sites out there that I can't imagine another one is necissary. I'd say put your time into contributing to rc.com instead of trying to start another community.

Hey all, thanks for replying so rapidly. I know all of these posts to be true, we don't exactly have the best climbing, but hey don't bash on it! and yes, to whomever made the post inquiring my previous statement >>for just those lucky enough to be climbing in the MidWest portion of the US. Unfortunatly I wasn't being serious. This site wasn't going to be something that I was going to put all my time into, ( I put it all into climbing :) ) Just something fun, where people can get more involved. Anyways, I don't really know where i'm going with this, I just woke up, and I gotta get ready to go play gym rat today, later all! Thanks -mike
