Howdy ~~ I wrote a few weeks back mentioning I'd be in the area and was looking for area beta and partners....y'all gave me some good advice. Now, I'm here but am without any partners.
Currently, I'm in Chapel Hill. Saturday the 18th or so (depending on yet to come plans) I'll start driving in the general direction on Louisville, KY. I would love to climb along the way for 1 to 3 days. I need to be in Lville by 22nd at the latest. Then on the drive back, I have the 26th and 27th available.
I'm from Seattle (well, from Chapel Hill, but currently live in the NW) so I'm used to great trad and alpine routes. I do a bit of everything tho' and would be happy to just get on some good rock out here. In the Pacific Northwest, my ability is generally up to 5.9, 510a ish, though 5.7-5.9 is what I typically stick to as I've only been climbing for about 6 months. I don't have a good sense of how stuff is rated out here.

Hey if you still need a partner for anytime on the weekend pm me. Next friday or whenever you get back in the area. I have a decent rack also :D . I have been going to Pilot mnt. lately. It has an easy approach, a wide variety of grades and types of climbs. No multipitch though. Have fun. Steve

Say I was thinking about climbing at Looking glass on the 20th and the 21st... Talk me in to something.
U only have two days . Hm

Steve -- I can get out of Chapel Hill early to mid-morning Saturday and be Pilot, Stone or Looking Glass pretty quickly on Saturday, for a Saturday and/or Sunday climb
EZ -- You say you're available the 20th and 21st? Maybe the 20th for me, then I really need to start heading to KY.
I've been told by several folks to just go to Red River Gorge and get a partner at Miguels. How long of a drive is that from western NC, would any of y'all think?
I can climb on the 26th and 27th too! Any other interested folks??

Hmmm
There is a gathering of another sorts... I was thinking about going to in NC. that wkend and then I wanted to do some climbing while I was down there... I spent to much time belaying myself in those Hills.{ Don't want to push me luck !}
Only one day...waa
O so u have the wkend too... maybe do fri and sat. at the gathering
I have to think about this some more

hey man, no vacation for me... i really want to head up to NC and definitely hit looking glass but over the weekday it's unlikely.... what i'm shooting for maybe is a three day weekend at some point, but right now is no good, too busy! thanks for the offer, i'mpissed i can't make it

OK Folks ~~ I'll be at Pilot tomorrow, hopefully meeting up with Steve and others. ?? Then heading to the Red. I think I have a partner for Sunday, but am still very much looking for partner(s) for Monday and Tuesday. I've posted on a couple other websites. Can't believe how hard it is to find partners out here! I'm not used to this. :(
