Good morning everyone! Sorry I've been absent lately; winter, that minx, managed to handcuff me to her bed and I've been a little "busy"... She let me out for exemplary behavior, though (and because she's worn out), so here are some chocolate croissants with extra chocolate, the usual spread of muffins  , lots of coffee, and for me - carbohydrates, for when winter wakes up... *ahem* It's odd, when ones usual climbing partners have lives outside of climbing; one is forced to scramble about resembling ye olde chicken sans cranium to find other partners. *sigh* Anyone want to climb multipitch at the Gunks this weekend? Or singlepitch, or TR - I'm neither picky nor proud. T

Mornin Tai, Cass and Anne! I have some red wine I could bring to NRP if you're interested Anne. Unfortunately I completely forget what kind/brand it is.

Morning all!!! Anne I am so jealous of you. I wish I could plan my life so that I had time or money to take actual trips!! Please keep up the TR's, I live vicariously through others. Rumney last weekend gave me a SMALL taste of what life may be like someday. I want it! Tai, Damn these obligations!! If you're not picky or proud I'm the perfect partner!! Alas, no Gunks for me this season. Perhaps next. Off to finish wrestling with computers. See you all around. *Grabs one of those chocolate concoctions and heads out.*

But I figure cheap=good for climber peeps, right??

In reply to: ...they weren't calling to me quite enough. I know what you mean, I was in REI the other day and every cam was crying out for a new home. I toughed it out. It didn't hurt that I'm broke either.

well my problem was I wanted sizes 4-9, and the set was 4-13, and so more than I wanted, but they only had 4 and 6 in stock as separates, and not anodized, which I like, because I'm a bit wifty and color coding makes things so much easier for me. so I pulled myself away from them, and bought a new biner instead, to rack my hexes on. :D

NRP is in WV...? For a regular weekend, that's way too far to drive - you're talking at least 8 hours each way. And, I have to buy a new refrigerator tomorrow; won't have the money for gas, etc. On a long weekend I'd consider it. Get about 3 feet of 3mm cord and a small accessory biner; tie the cord to the nut tool, then clip the biner through it and tie the other end of the line to your harness with some knot or other. This will allow you to not lose the nut tool. If you have one of the Metolius nut tools that clips on by itself, use the accessory biner to clip to your harness. Just won a brand-new-in-box BD #1 camalot on Ebay for $41. Hope to get a blue Alien this weekend. Then, I'm holding out for a set of Ocun Metal Jacks, and will stop after that except for biners. I am a gear whore. T

well boo...oh well, we'll see you in november. and good to know. but considering that I've only used a nut tool once for removing gear, and it was on the ground, and the rest of the time its a hot dog retriever......:) I love gear...I just worry that I won't use it. because I'm not a traddie dirtbag yet.
