Mike, Fosters is a great place to sport climb. There a bunch of routes in the 5.9 arena but not many in the 5.8. There are also some quality 10s when you move up. Unfortunately, I don't live in the area anymore, but your best bet for partners is either Chattown or Nashville. This time of year you could pretty much show up on any good Sat and there would be a crowd. Also a lot of folks from Atl make the trip. During the week is more sporadic. Also you should look into the climbing in nearby Sewanee. It's only about half an hour from you. There are some good low clifflines to boulder on there. Have a good one

Me and a friend may be going down to Sandrock this weekend. If you want to join us let me know. We'll be doing some easy stuff in the 5.7-5.8's since I'm ready for a break from trying 5.9's and 10's for the past month. I'll know more details latter in the week.

So you live in Columbia now? I need some climbers to hang with and would love to get in on some development or just know where some areas are. Hit me up with an email. Doug dgregorie@hotmail.com

To get to Sewanee get on Hgway 41 to Winchester and follow it up the mountain toward Monteagle. Turn off and go straight through campus of Sewanee (U of South). Turn in middle of campus on SC AVE and go straight till you get to the bluff. Go down the stairs at the Morgan's Steep sign and you have cliff line. If you want more keep walking. Have fun.
